Eoltec 6kW Wind Turbine

The Eoltec 6kW wind turbine can produce enough power to supply a single house (including a good amount towards the heating).

The two bladed machine comes with its own self supporting tower (12m) and can be connected in two ways:-

  1. Grid-Tie - (connected into the mains supply9national grid))
  2. Battery system - (charges a battery bank) for remote/'off-grid' locations.
Eoltec (Scirocco)

As can be seen in the picture here, the Eoltec stands on a 12meter self supporting tower, has two blades and in an 'up-wind' machine.  With an up-wind machine the blades are the first to hit the wind and the tower is second.  The advantage of this type of system is that the blades catch clean wind for maximum output.  the disadvantage in this case is that there needs to be a tail to steer the turbine into wind.

Erected using a winch and pole, this turbine is simple to install and service.

There is an electrical isolator switch at the base of the tower (behind the tower door) for easy isolation.  The break handle is also at the base of the tower.  The break is a sophisticated pitching mechanism that rotates the blades, in turn causing them to stall.  This is a neat idea usually only found on much larger turbines.

We are now stocking Eoltec wind turbines along with our Proven range. We can do a complete installation (turn key job), or supply only so please contact us for a quote or further information.

Costing; The grid-tie system is the most popular at around £20,000 (guide price only).

For those with no mains power there are battery systems.  The battery system includes a bank of batteries to store the power and so costs a little more at £28,000 (guide price only).  Also, all renewable energy systems are charged at a 5% VAT rate not 17.5%!
