What size
wind turbine do I need?
WT600. 600 watt Wind
turbine: charge batteries for small and
remote applications.
WT2500. 2.5 kilowatt
Wind turbine: power for a single house.
Providing about the same amount
of electricity per year as the average household uses, this is
the most popular size for domestic use.
It will
generate enough to power the general loads around the house,
e.g. fridge, freezer, washing machine, vacuum cleaner,
television, computer, lights etc. and with some left over to
heat the domestic hot water but not enough to heat the house.
WT6000. 6 kilowatt
Wind turbine: power for a house plus
some heating or export to utility.
The annual
output of this machine will generate enough surplus power to do
about half to two thirds of the heating as well as all the
normal domestic loads. This will save a vast amount of money on
central heating fuel over the years.
If you
already have an existing heating system the power from the
turbine can be fed into storage heaters in the main living
rooms. This will allow you to switch the water filled radiators
off, saving a corresponding amount of oil or gas. This machine
is also popular with people who want to be grid connected and
export excess power for payment.
15
kilowatt Wind turbine:
Generating
upwards of 30,000 units a year the fifteen kilowatt wind turbine
is ideal for large country houses, schools, or community
schemes. As with the other sizes it can be either grid connected
or autonomous.
